Welder Job Responsibilities

  • Operating cutting torches, grinders, and other tools as needed for fabrication
  • Working on elevated structures, confined spaces, or high-heat environments
  • Completing tasks during shutdowns, capital improvements, and new construction

Required Education and Certifications for Welders

Vantage Point Alliance places welders who demonstrate both technical ability and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards. Typical qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Completion of a formal welding training program or apprenticeship (preferred)
  • Current certifications such as AWS (American Welding Society) D1.1, D1.5, or others depending on application
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • Ability to pass site-specific weld tests (plate, pipe, x-ray)
  • Additional credentials as required by project (e.g., TWIC, MSHA)
